Now that I am on Christmas "vacation" I can take a trip to Bequia without feeling too bad, so I did. Here are the pictures I took over the past 3 days.
A panoramic view of Moonhole Beach on the southern side of Bequia. Martha and I sort of stumbled onto this beach by accident. The islands from left to right are : Battowia, Baliceoux, Mustique, Petit Nevis, and Isle a Quatre.
Looking west through an old ruin at Moonhole Beach.
A cave on the Southern end of Lower Bay (Bequia). Even now that tourist season has started the beaches are still pretty much abandoned. However, the beach bars in Port Elizabeth are populated now.
Derrick, Nado, Brian, and Amanda at Indian Bay beach. This is on the southern end of St. Vincent and is the only real touristy area on the mainland. Nado makes a living by taking tourists around in his boat. It was a slow day, so he hung out with us. He showed Amanda and Derrick how to catch sea snails. we made a fire, cooked, and ate them right there on the beach.
Back to Reality. Riding the bus "Roy" back to South Rivers. Everyone was doing Christmas shopping in town, so it got even more crowded than usual. I am finally getting used to existing as a "tourist", and then suddenly having to change back into another person who lives in the a developing country. That is both the best and the hardest part about living in South Rivers.
