"Thanksgiving" 11/30/2002
I sure miss my family. Thanksgiving away from home is a total bummer. I am thankful however that I was able to have a Thanksgiving dinner with the other Peace Corps volunteers. We even had a turkey. Some other items on the menu : west indian rice, callalu, onion rings, corn bread, squash, bakes, candied ginger, and ice cream. I wish that I could have spent more time with the other volunteers, but I had to get rollin' in order to not be out too late. I wound up walking in from Colonarie anyways and didn't get home till about 10:00. I spent the entire day today here in South Rivers. It was nice not to have to ride a van anywhere. I also got some laundry done, made banana bread, and went swimming in the river. I was going to try and get some sleep last night, but the neighbors decided to start a wild party at 3:00 in the morning. I tried and failed to sleep in the back room of the house, so I am really tired today. I am also currently getting some serious second hand weed from over there. Things have just started to be like this recently. I hope it is just an off and on kind of thing and it will quiet down soon. |
