"Tourist Season" 11/11/2002
There have been 3 cruise ships here in the past week. I thought that it would be a big deal whenever one came into town, but nothing really happens. Most of the cruise ship passengers don't even leave the boat. The ones that do mostly keep to the tour busses. These ships have all been full of Europeans. We'll see what happens when an American ship comes. I am told that not very many ships come this way, so we'll see if this keeps it up. I have still been teaching classes at the police training school with Brian Essenmacher. His lab up in Chateau isn't ready yet either. My lab and its computers continue to gather dust. I hope all the bickering over money ends, and somebody gets the electrical situation straightened out. The meeting I went to last Thursday wasn't promising at all. It may be awhile. The plan calls for a total of 15 of these centers. I hope that we at least have this one working before the next one in Colonarie is done. I also hope that I don't get bored and restless up here in South Rivers. Mr. Lewis, my boss, has been very stressed out lately. I hope that everything is ok. He has a big job to do, and nobody really seems to be cooperating. You'd think that with the Parliamentary government where everybody is from the same party they would be able to get things done. I'm not seeing it. |
