"Carnival II" 7/6/2004 It is time for Carnival again in St. Vincent. I decided not to take part in it this year because I did not enjoy it at all last year. Also, many Christian people do not go to Carnival so today I went to the Owia Salt ponds with my church. Quite a few other church groups were there too. I am thankful that Pastor Hill organized the trip. I had a difficult time getting to Owia because I missed the bus. Fortunately Adah (my host aunt) and Angel (my host sister) who were going for a drive saw me and gave me a ride. Going to the Salt Ponds was one of the things I really wanted to do before I go home in September. I am glad that I went and spent time with friends from my village instead of going to Kingstown. Knowing that I only have a little bit of time left here has been causing me some stress lately. St. Vincent really feels like home to me now. I am nervous about going back home and dealing with all the complexities of American life. All I can do is make the most out of the time I have left and try not to worry about it.
