"Falls of Baleine" 2/28/2004
I took a little vacation this week. On Wednesday, a Peace Corps volunteer from Grenada (Christina) came to visit St. Vincent with her boyfriend. I showed them around town, taking them to Fort Charlotte and the Botanical Gardens. On Thursday we climbed the volcano. They are going to continue their trip to Bequia and Union Island. I love it when people visit so that I can show them around and be a tourist too. Today I went to the Falls of Baleine with a group of other Peace Corps volunteers. We took a boat from Chateau up to the falls. This trip was much easier than hiking in like I did last time. Now I have officially circum-navigated the whole island! Part of the reason I took a little vacation is that work has been getting a little stagnant. I have been holding self taught computer classes for a while and quite a few people have participated, but numbers are falling. I am getting bored with it too. I think it is time for a reorganization. I am doing more and more homework help and reading tutoring with the children after school. I did find out this week that I did not get accepted at University of Washington for graduate school. That means my chances at Stanford are probably not too good either. Maybe I'll start sending out resumes. I only have six months left here now! |
